 Championing Youth against Domestic

Violence in Sierra Leone
Steven Mondeh, a 22-year-old visionary from Sierra Leone, embodies the essence of resilience and leadership. Under the mentorship of the Maryben Foundation, Steven has taken bold strides in addressing a critical issue in his community—domestic violence. With a deep-seated commitment to fostering a safer and more supportive environment for young people, Steven leads the “Youth against Domestic Violence” initiative, a groundbreaking movement that is transforming lives and mindsets in Sierra Leone.
Steven’s journey began with a personal encounter that fueled his passion for change. Witnessing the devastating impact of domestic violence on his friends and family, he resolved to make a difference. His determination led him to the Maryben Foundation, where he found the guidance, resources, and support necessary to turn his vision into reality.
As the leader of Youth against Domestic Violence, Steven spearheads various programs aimed at raising awareness, providing support, and advocating for policy changes. His initiative conducts workshops, seminars, and community outreach programs that educate young people about the signs of domestic violence, the importance of healthy relationships, and the resources available for victims. Through these efforts, Steven and his team have empowered hundreds of youths to speak out against violence and seek help when needed.
One of Steven’s most notable achievements was organizing a nationwide campaign that garnered significant media attention and support from local authorities. This campaign not only highlighted the prevalence of domestic violence but also showcased the critical role that youth can play in driving social change. Steven’s leadership and the campaign’s success have inspired many young people to join the movement and advocate for a violence-free community.
Steven’s work goes beyond advocacy; he actively collaborates with local organizations to provide counseling and support services to victims of domestic violence. By establishing a network of safe spaces and support groups, Steven ensures that those affected by domestic violence have access to the help they need to rebuild their lives.
Under the mentorship of the Maryben Foundation, Steven Mondeh has become a beacon of hope and change in Sierra Leone. His story is a powerful reminder that with courage, dedication, and the right support, young people can lead transformative initiatives that address some of the most pressing issues in their communities.
Steven’s unwavering commitment to ending domestic violence and his impactful work with Youth against Domestic Violence inspire us all. He exemplifies the potential within each of us to create a safer, more equitable world for everyone.
